The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a new, government backed scheme that has the potential to help many thousands of homes save on their energy bills.
You may be able to get free or cheaper insulation if your home:
- has an energy performance certificate (EPC) of D to G – check your EPC by going to https://www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate
- is in Council Tax bands A-D in England or A-E in Scotland or Wales – check your Council Tax band by going to https://www.gov.uk/council-tax-bands
You can be a homeowner, landlord or even a tenant (renting privately or from a housing association). If you are a tenant, please speak to your landlord first before applying as you’ll need their permission.
